Uncategorized

Earlier this week, Crown Weather Services released a forecast for the upcoming Atlantic hurricane season. This year El Nino conditions will likely influence the the level of activity. While this may mean a lower number of average storms, it does not indicate a reduced threat of at least one landfalling tropical storm or hurricane on the U.S. coast and/or the eastern Caribbean.

The forecast calls for;

  • 10 named storms
  • 6 hurricanes
  • 3 major hurricanes (Category 3 or higher)

According to Crown, the areas in the U.S. with the greatest potential to be impacted are; the lower Texas coast, central Gulf coast and coastal North Carolina.

Starting May 1st, Crown Weather will begin daily tropical weather discussions for the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season. You can follow Crown here- https://bit.ly/2TIqOVg
