UPDATE:  Minnesota Non-Resident Adjuster License

Minnesota has recently modified its policy on independent adjuster licensing.  In the past, Minnesota would only give reciprocity to adjusters who took an adjuster licensing exam through an approved state-sponsored agency.  This position limited adjusters? ability to secure a non-resident Minnesota license.

Minnesota will now accept a Letter of Certification from another state as sufficient evidence that an adjuster passed a similar adjuster license exam in accordance with Minnesota state statute.  They will only accept Letters of Certification from states that require applicants to demonstrate competency by passing an examination, such as an approved pre-licensing education course (i.e. Texas, Florida, and Oklahoma).  For more information on securing a non-resident Minnesota license, please visit their web site:  http://www.state.mn.us/portal/mn/jsp/content.do?subchannel=-536881380&id=-536881352&agency=Commerce.

As always, we encourage adjusters to consider seeking licenses in multiple states.  This is a good opportunity to secure a non-resident Minnesota license!
