Soo, wow, we have our 4th named storm and it’s not even August 1st! Dorian strengthened quickly and reached TS storm status earlier this morning. The system will continue to move west northwest over open waters this weekend and reach the Winward Islands late Sunday or Monday. However, Dorian will encounter dry air and higher wind shear in the short term, which could inhibit development. We will know more about his fate early next week.
We also have the appearance of 99L today… Will we end up with another named storm in the Atlantic before August 1st?
