92 has blown over the Yucatan and is now spinning in the Gulf. The weekend will offer good conditions for strengthening, so it is likely we will see our 6th named storm by early next week.
Erin? Meh, not much to discuss there. Downgraded to a depression, the system is struggling and could dissipate completely in the next few days.

The Atlantic hurricane season is coming to life as we move into the second half of August. For hurricane watchers, this is a familiar seasonal pattern. The research team at CSU has issued their 2 week forecast today and to quote the authors- Drs. Philip J. Klotzbach and William M. Gray- “We expect that the next two weeks will be characterized by above-average amounts (greater than 130 percent) of activity relative to climatology.” You can get all the deets here:
