Cleon Be Gone!

Wishing won’t make this winter baddie go away unfortunately….

Winter storm Cleon is here and with it comes plenty of snow, ice, freezing temps and general yucky-ness. This system is huge and will impact much of the U.S. this week. From Montana to Minnesota and most points in between, Cleon has already caused quite a bit of chaos. The storm will continue to move east through the Midwest over the coming days and could effect over 30 million people.  Only the east coastal states are expected to be spared from Cleon.

Perhaps the biggest concerns will be the uber cold temperatures and ice accumulation associated with this storm. Highways are strewn with cars caught in Cleons wake, and one fatality was reported in Montana from a four car crash earlier this week.

A few stats so far;

-Two feet of snow has fallen in Northern Minnesota and the flakes will keep falling through the day

-Ten inches of snowfall has already been recorded in Valentine, SD.

-Mountain areas in Colorado can expect up to 30 inches of snow from Cleon

-Citrus growers in California face potentially huge losses as temperatures drop and 85% of crops are still on the vine

-Lubbock, TX may see the mercury drop below 10 degrees this weekend… Now that’s chilly for Texas!

Bundle up, bring the pets inside and stay safe out there!
