Storm Action


A severe weather outbreak yesterday stretching from the Southern Plains into the Midwest brought tornadoes and super sized hail to several states. Overall there were 8 tornado reports, 145 wind reports and 168 hail reports. In addition, there is a high flood threat for the Ohio Valley. The highlights (errr.. lowlights)

  • Arkansas- Baseball size hail reported in areas. Roughly 40,00 people are still without power this morning.
  • Illinois- Widespread flash flooding as a result of the heavy rainfall.
  • Missouri- A state of emergency has been declared. Large hail and tornadoes reported. Flash flood threat continues.
  • Texas- Denton had reports of grapefruit sized hail and heavy thunderstorms battered North Texas causing several injuries.

More of the same is expected today. April is off to a stormy start!
