Just off the coast of Florida, 92L is bringing heavy rains to the southern part of the state. This system will continue to move westward over Florida and re-emerge into the Gulf tomorrow. Some development is possible as the disturbance works its way towards the Texas/Mexico border, with landfall expected late Monday or Tuesday morning. Heavy rains are expected for parts of south Texas starting Monday and continuing through the day Tuesday. We will be watching this system closely in the coming days.
There is also another wave emerging off the coast of Africa with moderate potential development in the next five days…
In addition, we have our fifth named storm of the season spinning off the east coast of the U.S. Forecasts anticipate Edouard will reach hurricane status in the coming days, but will pose no threat to any land areas.
The peak of hurricane season was yesterday, but there is still plenty of action in the Atlantic!
