Cindy Lou Who

Little Cindy Lou crossed the ocean blue
Ran into the coast, dropping rain on most
Flooding, storm surge and damages too
All from the journey of Cindy Lou Who

Tropical Storm Cindy made landfall early yesterday morning along the Texas / Louisiana border and is currently creeping northeastward as a Tropical Depression. Arkansas will receive copious amounts of rain today and then the system will move into Central Tennessee and Western Kentucky tonight. The threat of flash flooding continues for areas in Cindy’s path. Parts of Mississippi have received over a foot of rain, and several tornadoes have been reported in Alabama as well.

No tropical cyclone formation is expected in the next five days. With two named storms in one week, the season seems to be off to a busy start though!

Interesting tidbit- The name Cindy has been used for nine tropical cyclones in the Atlantic, most recently in 2011.
