Some gnarly clusters of thunderstorms are bearing down on the plains as we speak, bringing the threat of a derecho for Nebraska, Iowa to northern Missouri, northeastern Kansas and western Illinois tonight and into tomorrow morning. And it may not stop there… The derecho may pummel the Ohio River Valley with more of the same tomorrow afternoon. Indy, Cincinnati, Louisville and St. Louis are among the cities that may be affected.
This system will bring the entire severe weather entourage- hurricane-like winds, heavy rain, large hail, flooding and tornadoes- to a large swath of the Midwest. Damage has already been reported in parts of northern Nebraska this afternoon and it’s probably only going to get worse.
